Recombinant peptide analogue for the investigation of cell growth, signal transduction and receptor activation in preclinical research models.
General Description
IGF-1 LR3 (Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 Long R3) is a recombinant analogue of human IGF-1 with an extended amino acid sequence and a substitution at position 3 (Arg instead of Glu). These structural modifications reduce the binding affinity to IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs) and allow, in research models, a prolonged activity profile. IGF-1 LR3 is used in basic research to investigate signalling mechanisms involved in cell growth, differentiation and protein biosynthesis.
Chemical Properties
- Purity: ≥ 99% (HPLC-tested)
- Form: lyophilised powder
- Molecule type: recombinant IGF-1 analogue (Long R3 variant)
- Molecular weight: approx. 9,1 kDa
- Solubility: water-soluble after reconstitution
Research Relevance
In preclinical models, IGF-1 LR3 is used to study activation of the IGF-1 receptor and downstream signalling pathways such as the PI3K/Akt and MAPK cascades. The peptide is intended exclusively for basic research and for the analysis of peptide-mediated cellular processes including growth, differentiation and metabolic regulation.
Storage & Handling
Store cool (2–8 °C) and dry. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at −20 °C to preserve the structural stability of the peptide.
Certificate of Analysis (COA)
Each batch of IGF-1 LR3 is verified by HPLC and mass spectrometry analysis. The corresponding COA is available per batch in the download section.
